A Random Move Thought - The Wait has Begun.

OK, I have been waiting for the day we finally felt like it was "time" to list our house.  Several things needed to happen to be "ready" and yesterday was finally it.  Now in the 2 weeks since we made the decision to pick up and go, we have scrubbed floors, wiped walls, cleaned closets and drawers (strangers WILL be looking), we took down wall paper, textured and painted walls and I have parted with all kinds of "stuff".  In the nearly 24 years Bubba and I have been married we have moved from CO to Hawaii to Central Calif to Southern Calif to North Texas and now back to CO. You'd think I know a little about the process, but guess what...if I did know something about it, I apparently just completely blocked it from my memory.  I suspect that after each move was over and we were completely exhausted, we wanted to say something like "never again" and put the memory of the whole thing out of our mind's.  Truthfully though, going back to Colorado was always a dream, so I guess we just blocked the nightmare of moving from our memory because we always knew we wanted to be somewhere else.  Good thing, because if I HAD remembered what a pain moving is, we might not have chased our dream. So, the place is listed and now we wait.  I have kept all my grandma's recipe boxes nearby, hoping that I will have some time to make something, anything.  Maybe I can find something that will leave my kitchen with the sweet aroma of one of my grandma's favorites...maybe it will "hypnotize" a buyer into wanting my house immediately, so hypnotized they insist on paying more than what we are asking (OK - I need to wake up, but it was going to be a great story, don't you think?)

  1. I hate moving! And I know just what you mean about the "never again" and forgetting or blocking out what little you knew about the process. I think we've all been there ... ugh!

Sounds like it will be worth the hassle though, especially if you're going back to a place you love. Good luck selling the house, I hope you get exactly what you're asking and that the move will be smooth as silk! :)

Also - how funny about your little Lucy cat too! I loved that story and am so glad you shared it in your comment. I'll bet she's a doll! :)
